What is Chef Amí?

Chef Amí is an AI-powered meal planning app designed for busy moms who are tired of the daily 5pm question: "What's for dinner?" Tell us your preferences, what's in your fridge, and what you're in the mood for — and we give you one thoughtful dinner idea instantly.

Think of us as your calm, French country kitchen companion.

How do I get started?

Download the app from the App Store, create a free account, complete a short preference quiz (about 2 minutes), and your first meal suggestion is ready. You can also try 2 conversations free before adding any payment information.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — you can try 2 full dinner conversations for free with no credit card required. Download the app and start immediately. If you love it, you can subscribe to the monthly plan or become a founding member.

Is Chef Amí available on Android?

Chef Amí is currently available on iOS. Android support is on our roadmap — if that's important to you, let us know at hello@mychefami.com so we can prioritize it.

How does the AI meal planning work?

You have a conversation with Amí — tell it what ingredients you have, how much energy you have tonight, and what your family will actually eat. Amí gives you one specific dinner idea, not a list of 47 options. If you don't love it, just say so and it'll suggest something else.

The more you use it, the better it gets at understanding your family's tastes.

Can it handle dietary restrictions and allergies?

Yes — this is core to what Chef Amí does. Set your dietary needs once and every suggestion is already filtered for your family. Supported restrictions include: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, low-carb, Paleo, Whole30, halal, and more.

Please note: Chef Amí is not a medical service. If you or a family member has a severe food allergy, always verify ingredients before cooking.

Does Chef Amí provide full recipes with steps?

Yes. Every dinner suggestion includes full recipe steps, ingredient quantities, and timing. Founding members and monthly subscribers get complete recipe access. The free trial gives you the full experience for your first 2 conversations.

Will it suggest meals based on what I already have at home?

That's one of its best features. Just tell Amí what's in your fridge or pantry and it will build a suggestion around what you already have — no special grocery trips required.

Membership & billing
What's the difference between the founding memberships and monthly?

Founding memberships are a one-time payment that gives you lifetime access — no recurring charges, ever. The Founding Table ($159) also includes physical gifts mailed to you: a French linen tea towel, a French-style butter crock, and branded French finishing salt. The Founding Member ($129) is digital-only lifetime access.

The monthly plan is $11/month and can be cancelled anytime. It's great if you want to try before committing.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Account Settings → Membership → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees, no hoops.

What is your refund policy?

First-time subscribers get a 7-day satisfaction guarantee — full refund, no questions asked. For billing errors or unusual situations, email us at hello@mychefami.com. See our full Refund Policy for details.

Is founding membership pricing locked forever?

Yes. Founding members pay once and that's it — no future price increases, no subscription renewals, access to all future features included. This price is only available while founding membership spots remain open.

Privacy & account
Does Chef Amí sell my data?

No. We do not sell your personal information to third parties and we don't use your data for advertising. We collect only what's needed to run the app and improve your experience. Read our full Privacy Policy.

How does Chef Amí use my AI conversations?

AI-generated recipes from your sessions may be saved in anonymized form to our proprietary recipe database, which helps improve recommendations over time. This data is not linked to your personal account when used for aggregate improvements. Your individual conversations and preferences remain private to your account.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email hello@mychefami.com with "Delete my account" in the subject line and we'll remove your account and personal data within 30 days.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the login screen, tap "Forgot password" and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes — check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
