You can delete your Chef Amí account and its associated data at any time — directly in the app, or by emailing us. There is no charge and no need to contact support first.
1 How to delete your account
Option A — In the app (fastest)
- Open the Chef Amí app and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Your account and associated data are permanently deleted right away.
Option B — By email
Email hello@mychefami.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We'll verify the request and permanently delete your account within 30 days (usually much sooner).
2 What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your name, email address, and password
- Your phone number and daily-text (SMS) opt-in, if you enabled it
- Your dietary preferences, household details, and saved settings
- Your saved recipes, meal plans, and chat history with Amí
- Your subscription record within our system
3 What we keep, and for how long
A limited amount of data may be retained after deletion, only where required:
- Billing & transaction records — retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years). These are handled by the app store (Apple / Google) and our records; they are not used to re-identify you in the app.
- Anonymized, aggregated data — recipe and usage data that has been stripped of any link to you may be retained to improve the service.
Note: deleting your Chef Amí account does not cancel a subscription billed through the App Store or Google Play. To stop billing, also cancel the subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
